Aaron Messer is the inaugural coach of the club Cycling team at NWACC.

Originally from Winneconne, Wisc., Messer joined NWACC in November 2023 from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he was the Vice President of the school’s cycling club.

While at UW-Platteville, Messer finished 10th in the individual club time trial at Collegiate Road Nationals, representing the school’s first appearance at nationals in over a decade.

Since picking up the sport in 2020, Messer has raced competitively in road, cyclocross, gravel, mountain bike and ultra cycling events.

In 2022, Messer participated in road racing for the first time and swiftly advanced from Category 5 to Category 2 status. He joined Velovit Elite in 2022 and has represented the team since then.

In 2025, Messer expanded his focus to include cross-country mountain biking and ultra cycling. He earned the prestigious Big Belt Buckle at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, completing the 105-mile course with over 12,000 feet of elevation gain in 8 hours, 26 minutes, and 18 seconds.

Later in 2025, Messer won the Arkansas High Country Race – Ozark Odyssey, a demanding 253-mile off-road route with over 23,000 feet of elevation gain. He finished in 24 hours and 14 minutes, more than 3 hours faster than the previous FKT (Fastest Known Time).

Messer is also the full-time Associate Director of Digital Marketing at NWACC. He lives in Bentonville with two roommates.
