Bio

Nick Marquez brings elite culture-building and coaching experience to the table in his role as NWACC’s first-ever women’s soccer head coach.

A champion for advancing women in sport, Marquez has hosted some of the nation’s first women-only U.S. Soccer coaching courses and mentored dozens of young women into coaching, refereeing, and leadership roles.

Marquez is best known as the Founder and Executive Director of FIERCE United, a female-forward club based in Austin, Texas. After founding the club in 2019, Marquez grew FIERCE United from a single team into one of Texas’s most respected player development programs.

FIERCE is home to more than 300 athletes, multiple national finals appearances, and a consistent pipeline of graduates competing at NCAA and semi-professional levels.

Marquez also launched the Austin Futsal League, one of the region’s first structured futsal ecosystems.

Prior to his six years at the helm of FIERCE, Marquez was the athletic director and women’s soccer coach at Jubilee Academies.

Professionally, Marquez offers a uniquely business-oriented perspective to coaching and leadership.

A three-time high school state champion and team captain as a player in New Mexico, Marquez returned to his love of soccer after nearly two decades of success in sales.

His success is highlighted by his work as a sales director between 2004 and 2017. He spent nearly a decade in leadership development at National Instruments, where he led national recruiting strategy and global training initiatives. That corporate experience informs his structured, data-driven approach to culture, performance analysis, and team building.

Marquez earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2003, where he was a National Hispanic Merit Scholar.

He lives in Bentonville with his wife Sarah and their three children—all active in the game as players, referees, and coaches.
