Bio
Pedro Morales is distinguished both as a runner and a student. A Springdale native and a highest honors graduate of Don Tyson School of Innovation, Morales holds the 5k cross country record time and was the first Phoenix to earn an All-State selection in cross country when he was named to the 6A All-State team in 2023.
Morales was twice the team MVP (2022, 2024) at DTSOI and finished 11th in the state of Arkansas at the 2024 6A State Championships. He captained the Phoenix in his senior season.
As a student, Morales graduated from DTSOI with highest honors and achieved the Arkansas State Seal of Biliteracy, bestowed on students who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one other language. Morales is fluent in Spanish.
2025
For the second straight season, Morales delivered two top-three finishes in 2025. He started the season with a third-place finish Sep. 5 at the NWACC Season Opener, then posted his first career sub-27-minute time Sep. 20 at the Southern Stampede in Joplin, Mo. (26:16.6).
Morales then rattled off three more sub-27 times in a row, culminating in an individual win at the NJCAA Region 2 Championship (26:41.9) as he led the Eagles to its fifth title in as many seasons. He was NWACC's second finisher at the NJCAA National Championship (29:21.6) as the team finished 19th nationally.
2024
In Morales' freshman season, he helped NWACC finish ninth nationally and came in 68th place individually at the NJCAA Division II National Championship. He finished in the top three twice, including a third-place finish Oct. 26 in the NJCAA Region 2 Championship and a win in his first career collegiate event Aug. 30 at the NWACC Opener.
