Bio

Chris Weller is in his first year as both the assistant coach for Women’s and Men’s Track and Field and Cross Country and the head of sprints and jumps.  

Weller has nearly 20 years of high school and youth coaching experience across five sports, highlighted by an Arkansas All Preps Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year award in 2022-23. 

Six team championships and 15 individual state titles have been won under Weller’s direction. He has developed 50 All-State and over 150 All-Conference track athletes. 

Weller has been involved with the programs at NWACC since its inception in 2021. His nonprofit organization, THRiVE Athletics & Events, helped lead to the construction of NWACC’s on-campus cross country course and facilitated hosting events. 

He joined NWACC from Gravette High School in Gravette, Ark. in 2025. Weller spent four years as the cross country/track and field head coach and assistant coach for the wrestling program. 

Prior to Gravette, Weller was the athletic director at Founders Classical Academy for five years. He led the cross country and track and field programs and also spent a year at the helm of the Spartans’ golf and basketball programs. 

As a wrestling coach, Weller led Bentonville Wrestling Club from 2016-19. Under his leadership, the club grew to the largest in the state of Arkansas in 2019. Weller previously coached for Wild Hog Wrestling Club in Fayetteville and Southeast of Saline Wrestling Club in Gypsum, Ks. 

Weller is a Level 1 & 2 USATF-certified coach and Cross Country specialist and has been named the 4A Region 1 Conference Coach of the Year on four occasions.

Born and raised in the farm town of Gypsum, Ks., Weller now lives in Rogers with his wife Jessica and daughters Willow and Lilly. He enjoys watching sports and spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hiking.
