Bio
Celia Chernota's accolades range from back-to-back state championships and All-Conference awards to academic and character honors. Chernota was born in Baton Rouge, La. but raised in Gravette, Ark., where she attended Gravette High School.
With the Lions, Chernota contributed to consecutive conference and state titles in 2022 and 2023. She was a Class 4A Region 1 All-Conference selection and received the Lion Heart Award for character.
2025
Chernota placed sixth in her first career meet at the NWACC Season Opener Sept. 5 with a 21:47.8 finishing time. Her season best was set two meets later at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Meet in Fayetteville, Ark., where she registered a 21:47.0.
She helped NWACC win the NJCAA Region 2 Championship with a 14th place finish overall, then cracked the top 100 nationally at the NJCAA National Championship with a 22:05.1 to finish 99th.
