Bio
Cindy Soto is a second-year distance runner from Springdale. She is the Women's Cross Country recordholder at NWACC with five career top-10 finishes, including two top-six spots at the NJCAA Region 2 Championships. She also holds the school record in the cross country 5k as well as the 800-meter run, the 1500-meter run and the 5,000-meter run in outdoor track and field.
Her high school career was spent at Har-Ber High School, where she ran cross country and track and field.
Spring 2026 - Track and Field
Soto completes her final season in the Forest and Lime this spring with NWACC Track and Field.
Fall 2025 - Cross Country
Soto's sophomore season produced an NJCAA All-American honor, making her the third All-American honoree in program history.
She achieved a sub-20-minute time for the first time in her career Oct. 4 at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival (19:12.5), then repeated the feat with a 19:46.8 at the NJCAA Region 2 Championship to finish 4th and lead NWACC to a team title.
Soto was the Eagles' second finisher at the NJCAA Division II National Championship and finished 33rd overall (20:38.3), helping NWACC earn a program-record 9th place overall.
Spring 2025 - Track and Field
Soto ran all seven of NWACC's meets in its first-ever season of track and field, including NWACC's only outright event win to date in the women's 1500 meters at the Dean Pryor Invite (5:13.14).
Soto came in at under five minutes in the season finale of the 1500, running a 4:58.21 at Arkansas Twilight. Her best 800 time of the year came two weeks prior at the Pittsburg State University Tune-Up, where she cracked the top 20 with a 2:31.15. Both those marks continue to be the Eagles' program records in the 1500-meter run and 800-meter run.
Fall 2024 - Cross Country
Immediately after arriving, Soto's freshman campaign saw success with a 7th place finish Aug. 30 at the NWACC Opener. She placed 9th at the University of the Ozarks Invitational Oct. 12, then followed it up with her two best times of the year in the postseason.
Her 20:24.7 in the NJCAA Region 2 Championship yielded 6th place, then a time of 20:25.0 was good for 56th at the NJCAA Division II National Championship.
