Ponce Commits to NWACC XC Class of 2026
Har-Ber senior Ulises Ponce will head to Bentonville in the fall to run distance for the Eagles
BENTONVILLE - Har-Ber High School senior Ulises Ponce has signed for NWACC Men's Track and Field, as announced by coaches Josphat Boit and Chris Weller Wednesday.
"I just wanted to make sure I'm going to a good program," Ponce said. "I made sure that Coach Boit will take care of me."
Sporting a 17:15.60 PR in the cross country 5K and a 4:57.89 1600 meters, Ponce will primarily contribute in cross country but also has outdoor track experience from Har-Ber in Springdale.
"I'm excited for the new training and where it will take me," Ponce said. "I think I can contribute by grabbing points for the team and keeping a level head, doing whatever it takes."
Ponce is a former teammate of NWACC throwing specialist Omar Medina from the 2025 track and field season with the Wildcats.
NWACC Track and Field continues its 2026 season with the Dean Pryor Invitational March 12.
