Stephenson Joins From Siloam Springs
Corbett Stephenson heads to Bentonville this fall and looks to contribute to NWACC cross country and track and field from the jump
BENTONVILLE - Siloam Springs High School senior Corbett Stephenson was announced Wednesday by NWACC track and field and cross country coaches Josphat Boit and Chris Weller as the programs' latest signing.
"It's really [about] the team environment," Stephenson said. "I really liked meeting with [Coach Boit and Coach Weller], and NWACC just offers a lot of opportunity for growth and to better myself, as a runner and academically."
Part of one of the Panthers' most successful track and field classes in recent memory, Stephenson was part of the 4x800-meter relay team that beat its own school record last year at the Arkansas 5A State Championship meet in 2025. At the same meet, Stephenson set a personal-best 1:59.90 in the 800-meter run. He boasts a 54.21 in the 400 meters and a 4:55.67 in the 1600.
"I think I offer grit," Stephenson said. "I'm not afraid to try hard and push when it matters most, and I'm just excited to really hone my skills."
Off the track, Stephenson seems to have found a new home on the other side of the Northwest Arkansas metro.
"Bentonville has an energy that not a lot of places have," Stephenson said. "I like being able to go out and do stuff with my friends, and [the current team at NWACC] has a fun energy, and they're genuine people who want to take the time to get to know everybody."
Stephenson joins a men's cross country program looking for its sixth NJCAA Region 2 title in as many seasons this fall.
