Track and Field Finalizes 2026 Schedule
The Eagles stay in the Natural State four times, also traveling to Kansas twice and Missouri once; the NJCAA National Championship falls May 14-16 in Hobbs, N.M.
BENTONVILLE - NWACC Track and Field coaches Josphat Boit and Chris Weller announced the 2026 Outdoor Track and Field meet schedule Monday.
Eight events constitute the Eagles' second track and field season in program history. Four take place in Arkansas, including two in a row at the University of Arkansas in April. Five states (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma) are represented in total.
The season begins with a two-day event Feb. 27-28 in Conway hosted by Hendrix College; the Hendrix Invitational sees the Division III school welcome teams to Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.
NWACC then travels to Coffeyville, Ks. for the Dean Pryor Invitational. Held at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the Dean Pryor is the only event on the schedule hosted by a fellow NJCAA member school (Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens).
Rounding out the month of March is a busy final weekend, starting with the WashU Distance Carnival on the 26th and 27th. The Eagles' distance runners will compete at Division III Washington University in St. Louis at state-of-the-art Bushyhead Track.
Later in the weekend, sprints, jumps and throwing specialists head to Tulsa on the 28th to compete in the ORU Invitational. Host institution Oral Roberts University will welcome NWACC to ONEOK Sports Complex just across the Oklahoma state line.
The Eagles return to Kansas for a two-day stay in Pittsburg April 3-4. The Gorillas of Pittsburg State, an NCAA Division II juggernaut, play host to the PSU Gorilla Relays on Friday followed by the David Suernam Gorilla Classic on Saturday.
Two more events take place the following weekend, starting with John Brown University in Siloam Springs April 10 and continuing April 11 with the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville.
NWACC closes out its regular season two weeks later with a return to John McDonnell Field as Arkansas hosts the John McDonnell Invitational April 25.
The NJCAA Division I Track and Field National Championship takes place May 14-16 in Hobbs, N.M. on the campus of New Mexico Junior College.
