Meet Preview: Dean Pryor Invitational
NWACC travels to Coffeyville, Ks. for its only midweek meet of the 2026 season
NWACC Men's and Women's Track and Field faces its second test of the season and its only trip to Kansas in 2026 when the Eagles make their way to Coffeyville, Ks. Thursday for the Dean Pryor Invitational.
The Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens play host to the invite, the fifth year of the event after the first two attempts to host it were canceled in 2020 and 2021. Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville, also the home of Coffeyville and Field Kindley High School football, will house all events for the one-day meet.
NWACC brings the monemtum of seven PRs into the event coming off of the season opener in February at Hendrix College. Sophomore Marian Hendricks (200-meter run, 29.08; 400-meter run, 1:08.36) and freshmen Jakson Suit collected two personal bests (200-meter run, 25.70; 400-meter run, 57.25) while freshmen Madilyn Guy (discus, 19.62m), Benjamin Venter (800-meter run, 2:10.42) and Logan Bouzek (triple jump, 13.23m) each added one.
Guy kicks off the afternoon for the Forest and Lime with the women's discus, slated to follow the men's and women's javelin with a 1 p.m. rolling start. Bouzek's triple jump comes after the completion of men's and women's high jump, men's and owmen's long jump and women's triple jump. Jumps will also operate on a 1 p.m. rolling schedule.
Track events begin at 2 p.m. with 4x100 relays, including NWACC's men's 4x100 relay team, which comes off a 2nd place finish at Hendrix. Suit and Bouzek will join sophomore sprinters Owen Seusy and Brandon Lindenmuth for the Eagles' first running event of the meet.
Hendricks will seek back-to-back 200 and 400 personal records while women's distance runners Cindy Soto, Talitha Venter and Gloria Kurgat as well as men's distance runners Benjamin Venter, Kriz Perez, Kevin Perez and Pedro Morales compete across their respective 800-meter and 1500-meter events.
